Teach, Train, Serve

At a time when your community needs you most, what better way to serve than with the volunteer fire service? As new problems challenge us, there will always be a need for volunteer first responders who step up and help. You can be one of them by joining now. 

TEACHING

Once you become a member of the Nyack Fire Department, you’ll take Basic Exterior Firefighting Operations with the option to move on to Interior Firefighting Operations.

TRAINING

Hydraulic spreaders, cutters and rams (the Jaws of Life) are just a few of the tools of the trade that goes well beyond fighting fires.

CAMARADERIE

Teamwork is at the center of everything we do. The brother and sisterhood of the volunteer fire service share the same basic training, rewarding experiences and life-changing growth that you can only find in the fire service.
